turn signal on cluster doest work

got around to swapping out the original instrument cluster for one with a tachometer on my 2000 corolla. put my original speedometer back in and replaced all the light bulbs. everything works fine, except the left turn signal doesnt light up on the panel. the outside lights blink fine, but the panel light doesnt. took it back out and re-replaced the bulb with another new one, and the same thing happens. all the other parts work fine. any ideas? thanks

Check that all of the wiring is in place and that none of the end connections are broken. This is unlikely but also check the turn signal fuse (since all of them work on a single fuse I seriously doubt it).

But I'd definitely check out all of the wiring as that's what it sounds like.

just spent the last hour or so looking thru the old threads. other people have had this problem and it seems to be related to non compatible cluster swapps. I bought mine on ebay and it was advertised as 2000 cluster. I wonder whether it was really a 2001 or 02?. has anyone ever fixed this problem? some of the threads are 2-3 years old and as far as I can tell no one has posted a solution. damn

Makes sense seeing as Toyota changed a number of things externally and internally with the 2001 - 2002 models. If you're savvy with wiring, you can try to trace your original cluster with the new one and switch around the wiring? I've never looked at it directly so I don't know if it's that simple.

Not gonna work. Press your rear defrost button if you want the turn signal. :p

You need one from 98,99, or 00.

I bought one for the same reason and resold it when it didn't work. I made $20.
