Dual Display

I am planning on setting up my Thinkpad T510 with dual displays and am trying to figure out the best setup

the laptop has the following outputs:
- VGA
- Displayport
- USB

the monitors have the following inputs:
- VGA
- DVI-D
- USB

What is the best way to connect the laptop to these displays? I was thinking VGA to VGA for one monitor and Displayport to DVI-D (via an adapter) for the second.

Will I notice a difference in the displays? Is there a better configuration that I am missing? Should I be going with a USB to DVI adapter instead of connecting VGA to VGA?
