Today the touch panel above my keyboard died on me. So now I'm stuck not being able to use it to turn on/off wireless/bluetooth/camera. I can't bring it in for RMA for a while so I need some help from the community.
Can someone help me by using Sharpkeys: (utility to change keys) to change the scroll lock button to toggle on/off the wireless? This could help me locate which unknown key I need to reassign. And if that doesn't work, if you could save a copy of your registry then share, that would be really helpful.
You can download it here:
SharpKeys
Thanks

Not sure if it helps, but here is what happened when I tried it:

Thanks for the attempt moral, unfortunately no luck. I have a feeling this may not be possible since it could be a switch that can only be activated on a hardware level.
Update: Somehow I brought it back to life by resetting the CMOS battery. No clue why. Here are the facts:
-restarting windows: not fixed
-shutting down completely and reset: fixed
I'd appreciate any theories as to how this happened though :s

Funny thing, I was able to get my gt627 back to life today, but now the touch panel doesn't work. NotEnoughMinerals do you know any registery mod to turn on my wifi?
EDIT: followed this guide:

wifi wont come on still, probably system control managers fault.

Unfortunately, I was never able to get that working properly. I just had to pray I never lost power and had the cmos reset.

Put in a different CPU.
When I was trying to fix my screen problem I was lazy and didn't take out the CPU (SP9400), accidentally touched it with my soldering iron. I couldn't see any damage so I thought it was ok, turns out it's dead. Now I'm stuck with a hotter slower CPU (T7300).
Screen problem still not fixed, but I'm going to buy an hdmi cable and just use it as a gaming system connected to my tv.
Going to use my netbook for everything else, until I save up enough for a new notebook.

I didn't know that the mobo support the older T series. But what's the problem with your screen?
You'll use it as an "xbox" with your tv.
That's what my friend also done with his GX700 when it breaks into two pieces. Still work as a dedicated Fifa machine.

I would assume that you need a new flex cable (i.e. FFC cable).
